Now, I don't know why God appeared in a burning bush, but I suspect one reason may have been to show Moses that should he accept the task, he would have to be just like that burning bush. He would have to endure some "fiery" trials and sufferings, yet remain unconsumed by any of them. For, humanly speaking, the task would be difficult, even impossible. It would not be easy. Yet, he could not allow the difficulty of it to consume him. Of course, God was there to help him, and He did. It's a great true-life story.
In any event, this makes me think of the times when we too, are faced with trials and sufferings or even tasks that seem impossible. Do we give in to them, allowing them to consume us? Or, do we stay strong and "bushy" if you will, allowing God to burn brightly in the midst of them so that others will see Him? This brings to mind a few friends who are doing just that. They're going through some of the toughest blows life has to offer, yet they refuse to be consumed by them. They're staying steady and strong, just like that bush, knowing God is right there in the midst of it all. They're allowing Him to burn brightly in their lives as they continue to trust Him, proving to others that He is indeed, real.
They're just like that burning bush, and I don't know about you, but I want a closer look!
Blessings and love,
Judy Grubaugh
P.S. Would you believe, later on the very day God brought this story to mind, I opened Facebook and the first photo that popped up was the one shown here. It was posted by a friend who had taken it at her home and who titled it: "We have our own burning bush!" It was then that I knew I had to write this story. Thank you, Kathy!
