"For this command is a lamp, this teaching is a light,
and correction and instruction are the way to life,..." Proverbs 6:23
But as breathtakingly beautiful as were those trees, within them was a hidden danger, for one could easily become lost when wandering among them. So when we checked into the inn, a strong warning was given. It was loud and clear: When walking into the forest, stay on the trails. It was a warning we would not forget, and when we did embark on a hike, we couldn’t have been more grateful for the trails. For not only did they clearly mark the path to follow, and show us where it would lead, but they beckoned us into that magnificent forest. Those trails provided everything we needed to enjoy the journey, and find our way out.
Even so, would you believe it? There was more. For here-and-there along the trail were signs upon which Bible verses were posted, and as I read each one I found myself feeling that tender nudge of God deep within my heart reminding me of the trails He has provided in His word, trails that clearly mark the best way to experience the beauty of life while at the same time, pointing us to our final destination. For, you see, just as the best way to enjoy the beauty of a forest is to follow the trails, the best way to experience the beauty of life is to follow the truths set out in God’s Word, for not only will they bring us safely to the end of our journey, but they will allow us to experience the beauty along the way.
No one wants to be lost in a forest, why would anyone want to be lost in life?
