I will strengthen you, surely I will help you.
Surely I will uphold you with My righteous right hand.”
Isaiah 41:10
The picture of that young family stayed in my mind’s eye, and I thought of it often, for it was a reminder of the above verse and the fact that God is always holding out His hand to me. Throughout the Bible, you see, one of the ways God illustrates His love for us is by the reminder that He is always holding out his hand to us.
Then, shortly after I returned home from New York, would you believe it, I received the attached photo in the mail from our oldest grandson and our granddaughter-in-law. It’s of the two of them walking along with their daughter right between them, two-year old Tirzah—my great-granddaughter! When I first saw it, immediately the NY family came to mind, but there was one difference. Little Tirzah had dropped her dad’s hand and is looking back at the camera. It’s a darling photo of her beautiful smile, but what caught my attention is her dad’s strong hand reaching down ready to grab hold of her hand whenever she was ready to reach for his.
God is reaching out His hand to you today. The question is: Will you reach back for His?
Blessings,
