I will guide you with My eye."
Psalm 32:8 NKJV
It wasn’t until I was in my car driving toward the beach on my way to meet her that I started second-guessing my acceptance. How was I to act in such a place? Would I know what to order? I could easily talk with this woman about business, but interacting with her in a social setting? That was another story. What would we talk about? As questions like this swirled around in my mind, suddenly the above verse came to mind, and when it did I knew God was letting me know that He would guide me, and did He ever!
Later that afternoon, when the whole thing was over and I was on my way home, I could hardly believe how God had led me. From the time I stepped out of my car, there was a red carpet beneath my feet that led up the steps, into the restaurant and all the way down the center aisle to the best table in the house where she sat waiting for me. All along the way, there were people guiding me—the parking attendant, the doorman, and the hostess. All I had to do was follow. Then, once I was seated, and the waiter had put a napkin in my lap and poured me a glass of cold water, the woman herself took over as she kindly suggested what to order. I was able to relax and even the conversation was easy. Best of all, God opened the door for me to share my faith. When it was all over, I almost wished I could do it all again!
As I drove home, I knew God had guided me every step of the way, and as I pulled into my driveway He had another reminder for me, telling me that as I continue to follow Him, there would always be a red carpet beneath my feet.
All I have to do is walk upon it!
Blessings to all,
