our God by turing from our sins and giving attention to your truth."
Daniel 9:13
But it didn't stay there. As I continued throughout the day, the question of truth did not leave me. What is it? Where is it to be found? I even took time to look up the definition in the dictionary, which informs me that truth is an indisputable fact. That's what I want--indisputable facts. Where can I find them?
Well the question has continued to swim around in my mind, and for some reason this morning the man Daniel came to mind. He's the one who lived way back, some 500 years before Christ. Destruction had come to his land, and he was carted off to Babylon where he spent his life in an administrative position among the hierarchy of that country. As such, he heard many messages, most of which were entirely false. But he never lost sight of truth, and in chapter nine of the book of the Bible that bears his name, he went directly to its source, the living God. He bowed before Him, repenting of the sin of his people for their neglect of truth, crying out for the mercy of God for his land and his people. And so this morning, my husband and I did the same for our land and the people of our country, the United States of America.
As to the article I read, and many like them, I'll not pass them on. I'll leave that to others. But as to the truth of God's holy word, I'll not let it sit on the printed page. I'll pass it on, doing my best to live by its truths and encourage others to do so too.
Truth, I believe, is what will save us.
May God bless America!
