James 5:16b
So as soon as I was able, I cleaned out my closet, asked my husband to paint it and we set up my own war room. Oh, at first my husband thought I was crazy, but after painting it, he got in on the action too. He put up a bulletin board, a chalkboard, and even got me a stool and a rug. To top it off, he put a light above it all. I can’t tell you how much having this special, private space has enhanced my prayer life. Now, when someone asks me to pray for them, I jot it down on a card and add it to the board. I don’t spend hours there, oftentimes it’s just a few minutes, but in the midst of my day when a burden comes to my attention or I feel a burden rising in my own heart, that’s where I go, and I never walk away without being reminded that God hears our cries, and He responds to the one who prays fervently.
Oh, sometimes I have to wait and other times I don't hear or see the results, and there are times when God answers differently than I expect, but I do know—without doubt—that my prayers are powerful and effective and they accomplish much.
God promises!
Blessings to all,
