Romans 8:28
At this time, I was facing a potentially serious health issue. Oh, at first I wanted to ignore it, but my concern only increased when I saw the look on my doctor’s face and heard him describe what would be necessary if his suspicion was correct. The scare only intensified as I waited for appointments, tests, more appointments, and surgery. The hardest of all was waiting for results. But now it’s over. I received a good report and I am recovering nicely. Needless to say, I’m grateful, but I never want to forget the lessons I learned through this experience; one of which is to keep living forward even when I don’t understand.
It seems these days that most everyone is going through something, difficult things far beyond our understanding. Not only do serious illnesses abound, but also accidents, financial upheavals, relationship breakdowns, suffering children, loss of jobs, dreams and even loved ones—just to name a few. Oh, someday we may be able to look backwards and make sense of it all. But one thing we do know for sure is that for the one who trusts in God, some good will come from it. Until that happens, let’s keep living forward.
That, I think, is what God means when He tells us to live by faith.
Love and blessings,
