Matthew 5:14
It was obvious Tirzah had a secret, and she just couldn't wait to let us in on it. As the elevator began to move, with her eyes locked on mine, it didn't take long to discover what it was. As with most elevators, walls surrounded us, but as we moved upward the outside wall gave way to windows and suddenly the elevator was flooded with light. It was totally unexpected, even shocking, as the rays of the sun filled the elevator. Just then, Tirzah revealed her secret as she threw her arms up into the air, and with all the gusto she could muster up, she declared, "Let there be light."
But there was more to it than a little girl's excitement or light flooding an elevator, for when we got to the 18th floor, my daughter shared with me her desire to be a light wherever she goes. She knows that in order to be such a light, she must stay in the light of Jesus, and that is the lesson she had been teaching young Tirzah. Always stay in the light!
No wonder Tirzah was so excited! She had grasped the lesson.
