bearing fruit in every good work and increasing in the knowledge of God;..."
Colossians 1:10 NASB
But suddenly and seemingly out of nowhere a homemade sign popped out in front of us that read: Leave Footprints not Trash. At first I sighed, as I realized that even on that beautiful beach, there is a trash problem. But as I continued looking at the sign, suddenly I felt that tender nudge of God giving me a message about life, for deep within my heart He was asking me what I am leaving behind. Is it footprints or trash? The message was so real that I grabbed my Smartphone and snapped a photo, and as we walked along I spoke my thoughts out loud to my husband. And then together, we asked the questions: What are we leaving behind? What will be our legacy? Are our footprints worth following, or one day when we’re gone, will our lives be picked up, thrown away and forgotten? Just like trash. Or, are we leaving footprints worth following?
What about you? What will it be? Footprints or trash?
Blessings and love,
