but we ourselves are like fragile clay jars containing this great treasure.
This makes it clear that our great power is from God, not from ourselves."
2 Corinthians 4:7 NLT
It was a great afternoon, and our family has now returned home. But this morning I took a peek at the photos of our time together, and when once again I saw the look on Tirzah’s face, the memories flooded back. Every fiber of her being reflected that she had a treasure. There was no way she could hide it!
As I allowed myself a few moments to relish in the memory of that delightful day, suddenly the above verse came to mind reminding me that I too have a treasure. Oh, it’s not in a bag that I carry around in my hands, but it lives within my heart. It’s the light of Jesus! And as God so lovingly reminded me this morning, those of us who know Him are like fragile clay jars holding this great treasure. What a gift!
As I closed up my phone taking one last look at Tirzah's photo, I couldn't help but wonder. Does my face reflect the treasure I hold? I hope so.
Oh, the simple joys of childhood and what lessons they teach us. This is one I hope I will never forget!
Blessings and love,
