Proverbs 22:3
At one point as I stepped up onto the curb after barely missing being hit by an oncoming car, the driver of which apparently had his mind elsewhere, I felt that tender nudge of God in my heart likening the dangers of the morning traffic to the dangers of the culture in which we live. Even though we can’t avoid hearing its messages, we can be on our guard. Like yesterday, in normal everyday living, I felt bombarded by some of the stuff that crossed my path. Fortunately I picked up on it rather quickly and to be truthful, it made me mad. Not only because much of it is aimed directly at our young people who are under such peer pressure to believe most anything no matter how outrageous it may be. But also, because often the message of the culture is portrayed as good even though it’s evil through and through. It's deceptive and leads only to destruction. We must be on our guard, for God's message is clear: "Woe to those who call evil good and good evil, who put darkness for light and light for darkness,..." Isaiah 5:20
Whether out walking or just living, be on your guard!
Blessings,
